MICROCHIP Nonvolatile Memory

Microchip has a long history of providing non-volatile memories. We give an overview of Microchips serial EEPROM product on line. It discusses the advantages of serial EEPROMs, including high endurance, low power and small size. Then, it compares and contrasts the features of the three bus families (I2CTM, Microwire, and SPITM) in terms of density range, speed, security features, and implementation. There is also roadmap section the current and future products and a summary of EEPROM tools.

At the same time, SPI-compatible Serial SRAM devices from Microchip are available in 64 and 256 Kbit options. These devices provide high-speed performance at low power making them ideal for embedded applications needing more RAM. The devices use fewer pins with fewer interface connections and smaller packages thus ensuring smaller designs and lower system costs.

ATMEL Nonvolatile Memory

Atmel is the world's No.1 manufacturer of Parallel EEPROM products. These products are the highly flexible members of ATMEL Nonvolatile Data Storage Memory family. The Parallel EEPROM enables the user or application to update the stored data byte-by-byte or by full sector, while providing reliability benefits of high programming endurance and data retention, and faster read timing than Serial Interface protocols.

Atmel provides a complete selection of densities (64 K-bit to 4 M-bit), operating voltages and device packages. Atmel's battery voltage (2.7), low voltage (3.0) and 5-volt Parallel EPROM’s are used extensively across a broad spectrum of products including telecommunications, avionics and military applications. Atmel offers the world's only 4-Mb monolithic EEPROM, which is used in military and commercial avionics applications.

ATMEL Nonvolatile Memory includes below families: Data Flash, EPROM, Parallel Flash, Parallel EEPROM, Serial EEPROM, Crypto Memory.
